Why are there so many books about hats children? Those of you who are regular readers of the blog hat or chapeau Information and ResourcesA "of VillageHatShop.com can have no idea where I am. Yes, that is, in fact, another example of a theme that runs throughout the blog and site, namely hats question. The hats are cultural icons. Hats sit in a visible and important at the top of the head of Onea's. Hats are a bridge history. Hats transform user. Hats, as a symbol can be simple and complex at once. The hats are fun. As an object that revolves around a story, a hat is a perfect fit. Leta take a few examples:

Hats as a bridge to learn about the history and form an archive for letters and documents Important: HAT Abe Lincoln.

Hats in the upper deck for chemotherapy patients, intended to help keep hope alive: HATS Kathy.

Hat (a "bad Hata" in particular) as a metaphor for a person: Madeline and the bad hat.

Hat as a super hero hat (Ungerer).

Hat as a valuable barter hat scarecrow.

Hat as a fashion accessory eccentric very special: HAT Miss Hunnicutt.

Hat as a good luck charm: My Hat LUCKY.

Hat as an article to stimulate memory and Storytelling: MISS HAT Fannia FLOSSIEÂ aunt and hats (and Crab Cakes below).

Hat as an old friend and companion and as a metaphor for change: Uncle Nacho HAT / El Sombrero del Tio Nacho.

Of course, I am guilty of bias of an a priori infuse hair with a high degree of symbolic meaning, the cache, the cultural value, etc. (IÂ've must justify my existence somehow for the good of the Gothic) And yet you can talk to its validity? Obviously, writers and artists from Seuss to Keats to Scarry Bemelmans et al. that donÂ't interested to share my own prejudices, still find it relevant to their hats.

But I think the proliferation of the hat in the literature for children is more than that. Parenting in modern America can feel like a control of Merry-Go-Round. The barrage of media messages to buy toys right, fill your house with the appropriate music [Mozart] to promote brain development, are committed to the right of "Group A play, enroll the child in the right pre-school (which undertakes to prepare your child for the Ivy League), going through the ubiquitous disingenuity (politicians and Advertisers spinning lies and double speak) and decide when and what to expose your innocent to the modern world, the rampant commercialism (donÂ't buy anything but a hat), war is not surprising why a father is drawn by a simple story that revolves around a simple goal and honest connotes a simpler time. Hat icon of nostalgia, yes, that too. But unfortunately, more than nostalgia – for the love of God, Father, understandably, wants to take his son to go crazy modern Happy-go-round. The father has an epiphany – donÂ't lot of this nonsense adults and anxiety in my child to buy a little book IÂ'll and read a hat. This is a good thing to do in our century, Hyper-21a complex – ITA really good for the soul.
