For Catholics: What is the average age of an infant or child to be baptized?
My first baby was baptized in a month. My second is on its way, and I wanted to wait until I returned to my country, which would be in the year. Is it too late to baptize? What do you think?
I called my daughter at 4 1 / 2 months because I wanted our whole family there with us and when it it developed. I think the average is 1-3 months, but I've seen as late as the age of 16-18 months. I think you should wait until that you return home if that is what is comfortable for you. I do not think it is too late but I think you will find the handling of child while being baptized can be a little more difficult. Good luck to you and your family.
