In 1974, when the company established in Tokyo, said Sanrio designer Ikuko Shimizu in designing a cartoon character who, in his charming girls pre-teens to decorate a plastic bag to collect the parts to create a character who would win the heart of the Japanese people. Shimizu has developed a stuffed white cat with blue overalls and wearing a red ribbon on his head. The cat was introduced on 1 November 1974. The kitten was shown sitting between a goldfish and a milk bottle with his head tilted to the side to meet his friends. It was adorable beautiful place that's known in Japan, which is rapidly become a hallmark of consumer culture in Japan. The character was originally known as Kitty White, but later became known as the famous Hello Kitty.
Headquartered in Tokyo has about 400 iconic Sanrio characters. As the center of the Yamanashi Silk in 1960 by Shintaro Tsuji, the Company changed its name to Sanrio. Hello Kitty and other figures represent 91.5% of sales of the company.
