Tell your father to Chill! Even if you have copies of photos stored on your computer, then you do no need to keep an album of material having backups of your impressions. Another good option is an external hard drive backup. I save my files in one on a regular basis. Also I burned some images to disk, but the disc quality may deteriorate with age, so do not count on everything.
