The debate continues: to bottle feed your baby Enfamil or Similac infant formula? Well, in the hope of make the decision easier, we take a look at what to offer products at a time.
Mothers to give birth have a tough decision make: to breastfeed or bottle? Mothers who choose to bottle face another difficult decision: what infant formula to use? Enfamil Similac and are firmly placed as one of the best, top-rated brands of baby formula available today. But is it better than the other?
Well, the question above is a bit of common sense since the two manufacturers in different types of infant formula. Enfamil Enfamil LIPIL to – Contains DRA and AHA; Enfamil LIPIL Gentlease – contains reduced lactose for babies with lactose intolerance; Nutramigen LIPIL – designed for babies to the hypoallergenic formula designed for babies with proteins of cow's milk, allergy symptoms such as colic, rash and diarrhea; Enfamil ProSobee – soy-based formulas for infants Enfamil Premature LIPIL – designed specifically for the rapidly growing infant feeding premature and low birth weight, Enfamil with Iron, the list is long. Likewise, Similac makes many different types of infant formula Similac Advance – Contains DRA and AHA; Similac Organic – USDA organic certification and uses cow's milk produced without the use of growth hormones; Similac Isomil Advance – Infant formula soy, Similac Lactose Free Advance – which are specially formulated for babies with lactose intolerance, Similac Formula NeoSure – Help to meet the nutritional needs of premature and low birth weight, and the list continues.
Therefore, we must compare like with like. However, most parents who use feed bottle Enfamil and Similac, will use Enfamil LIPIL or Similac Advance.
Why Enfamil is better?
Enfamil contains more levels of DHA and AHA Similac no 17mg compared to around 11mg.
Many parents have noticed that Enfamil does not pack as Similac, which takes the guesswork out of whether the dust sifted correctly before scooping.
Finally, Enfamil is cheaper Similac.
Why Similac is better?
Enfamil formula is made with olein palm oil; Similac not. A study suggests that formulas with a mixture of fats, including olein palm oil (eg, Enfamil, Prosobee) become less frequent and stools firmer.
Similac claim that their infant formula provides 50% more than Enfamil calcium absorption.
They claim also that its new improved formula has fewer bubbles and therefore makes babies less gas.
Finally, they argue that switching to Similac Isomil Similac Advance will reduce irritability, gas and spit-up in most babies in about 3 days.
Many parents complain that brand of infant formula they are using causes constipation, flatulence, indigestion and colic in babies. Switch brands often the condition is not often. In general, choosing a different type of formula is designed specifically provided that relieves discomfort Baby. Unfortunately, the debate on whether Similac or Enfamil causes adverse reactions for babies is contradictory and often very hot. A field will give a big thumbs for Enfamil, whereas the other camp will rave about the benefits of Similac. Unfortunately, doctors and hospitals may not provide as many are under contract for the supply of a brand or another – almost independent advice.
Whatever brand you choose, whether Similac or Enfamil or any other, can be sure that the insurance has been approved by the FDA. All brands on the market contain all the nutrients your child's need for healthy development. If your baby is perfectly happy with infant formula that you use, then stick with it. But if not, by all means change brands, but first try to assess what could be causing your discomfort child and select the type of infant formula that relieves symptoms.
