My husband and I received the first Whitetail Fawn when she was one day. A few weeks before taking it home is implemented by the Department of Resources Natural our wildlife breeders license. You should get that, and the number of breeders of the ball and the DOE that the deer came. We allowed this fawn to nurse his mother for 24 hours to receive colostrum before taking it home.

We put in a dog carrier for transportation home. The fawns are very scared and docile and easy to handle at first. She stayed at home for their first 3 weeks, then moved into a dog pen outside. White-tailed Deer can jump from a very young age. We recommend at least about 4 feet to 12 weeks of age and then a 9 then about 10 feet.

White-tail deer fed substitute milk goat. This can be found in animal feed and farm stores. For food, we used a regular bottle with a rubber nipple. A red rubber nipple long used to bottle and lambs, goats food can also be purchased. The replacement bag will tell you how to mix the formula. We want to mix a large batch and store in a container refrigerate.

We started our fawn in a time of 3 hours of feeding. It is very important that these babies are fed least 6 times a day during the first weeks. Start with an ounce of formula. Our fawn just laid around the first week and did not rise and move much. For the food was placed in a towel and fed him while she had lied. We have had many problems with food. She took the nipple well at all and ended up with a syringe to feed its population for a few days. After taking his hand, ate like a pro. It is advisable to add 1-2 tablespoons of plain yogurt to each bottle to prevent diarrhea. Diarrhea can be fatal to a fawn can get lost very quickly. If diarrhea persists, consult a veterinarian or exotic wildlife on the medication may be necessary.

The reason why most people lose fawns is because they do not know have to clean the deer back after each meal to stimulate urination and defecation. It is mandatory that this be done. Fawns can not use its functions in his body until about 4-6 weeks. It can easily become septic and die if the cleaning is not. We placed our fawn in a Rubbermaid bath with newspapers lining the bottom. We use baby wipes to remove and has done after each meal.

Around 12 weeks, you can decrease the fawn from the bottle. We started offering deer pellets and water in a bowl of week 3 on. She has started eating solid foods at about 8 weeks. There are also feed clover, corn and soybeans to supplement their diet. Our bottle feeding schedule is as follows:

Day 1-3 2 ounces every 3 hours (gavage if necessary)

Day 4-7 4 oz 6 times per day

8-14 Day 6 ounces 6 times per day

Day 15-21 8 oz 5 times a day

Day 22-28 8 oz 5 times a day

Day 29-35 9 ounces 4 times daily

Day 36-42 10 ounces 3 times daily

Day 43-49 10 Once 3 times per day

Day 50-56 12 Once 2 times per day

Day 57-63 12 Once 2 times per day

Day 64-84 16 ounces once a day

Note that each deer is different and may require adjustments to do. The main problem with the bottle to overeating fawns. All the deer farmer to do things differently, we found that this system is what works for us.

Erin Kurwicki and her husband live in Southern Illinois and raise Whitetail Deer. Check out their blog Whitetail Deer World for more information on their deer farm, hunting, and taxidermy.

Unfortunately, not much. If you had sold in 2004 could have raised $ 10-100 for most of them. Today, the economy is so bad that even a BB that would have been worth almost $ 2000 then sell for $ 7
