Over 70 million Americans say they walk for exercise, what is the country's most popular cardiovascular workouts. But ask most women that does not work, and they will tell you it's because he will not walk alone. The beauty of walking group of women is that it provides companionship and support and promoting an ongoing commitment to a healthy lifestyle!

To start a walking group or club of women in your area? I found 10 essential steps to initiate and maintain a success:

1. Find out what women in your area looking for a target group. You can do informally, calling at work, school, church or community clubs. Search for retail or health care facilities serving women and ask his opinion. Or you can make an e-mail survey to a survey Thanks Monkey for little or no cost.

2. In partnership with an organization highly respected in his community, whether a hospital, physician practice, physical therapy center, sports shop or a health club. Provide expertise not only for walkers (as stakeholders who can answer your club before issuing a walk, or brochures that may be divided), but also helps you promote your group. They can also provide the name recognition and instant credibility.

3. Determine that you want to serve, and how. Does your group to attract leisure or fitness walkers? There starting 30 minutes walk on Monday and Wednesday morning and 60 minutes intermediate-advanced rides on Tuesday and Thursday evening? Get a handful of other coordinators who can help if you can not go to a meeting. Make sure that if all the walkers meet at the same time you have someone who can provide assistance for beginners and challenge anyone of those more advanced.

4. Siting on foot. Start in an area that you can track all types of travelers (perhaps in a park where you can walk laps). Measurement of different paths that allow members to walk 30 minutes, 45 minutes and 60 minutes depending on the structure of group.

5. Contact the local police. Call the Community Service official in his local police station and inform the group and ask if you have recommendations on where and when not to walk.

6. Be fitted. Leaders must have a watch, a whistle (for communicating to the world group) and a cell phone so they can achieve a leading provider help if necessary. Have all walkers complete a waiver prior participation, so you have the contact information in case of emergency. Some hikers carry water, preferably in a bag back or belt, so that their arms are free to move naturally.

7. Step It Up to burn more fat and calories. Do not The old adage "slow and steady wins the race Add intervals. brisk walking or climbing hills burns more calories and fat than walking pace. intensive parts and low-intensity walking 5 minutes at a moderate pace, then walk one minute lead by example.

8. Consider adding strength training. Ask a personal trainer to join their group to show muscle toning moves can easily be done without equipment. Strength training not only builds muscle which burns excess fat at rest, but also makes strengthening joints that allows you to walk farther and faster. Also ask a stretching routine that the group can do before and after the march.

9. Bond as a group. Consider the possibility of matching t-shirts with the name of your club to show the community that you are (for make it easier to get new members). Why not use the club as a way to help the less fortunate? Get your group to walk together fundraising events like the American Cancer Society Relay for Life (do not forget the t-shirts!). Why not train together for an event like a 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon. You can find a list of events throughout the country on Active.com

10. Spread the word. Put your group MeetUp.com another area to encourage walkers to join. About your group or post on blogs related women's health (always keeping privacy of each member of the group). Stay in touch with group members (and old) by weekly e-mails that encourage and challenge. Require companies to publish their prospectuses.

11. (I know I said this would only be 10 but) most importantly, enjoy!

A glass of champagne is one of life's finest pleasures, but for many of us, more than that adds up to a headache served in a stylish flute. But what to do with those opened and unfinished bottles? The Vacu Vin champagne saver solves the problem with a unique locking design that re-seals the bottle after...

The writing-directing team of Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyers (Father of the Bride) made this sweet satire about a high-powered yuppie executive (Diane Keaton) who unexpectedly becomes a mom and finds she can't successfully integrate the role into her busy life. This '90s update of the Spencer Tracy-Elizabeth Taylor hit is a mix of the pleasant and the silly, a nice enough movie but a little too controlled to become particularly interesting. Steve Martin plays the aging patriarch who is threatened by his daughter's engagement and not-quite-willing to let her go. The writing-directing team of Charles Shyer and Nancy Meyers provides Martin's character with ...
