Do you like the sight of flowering plants, with gorgeous butterflies flitting around them? Plant a butterfly garden! With a little knowledge and a good place to the plant is actually very simple to plant a butterfly garden or simply convert your existing gardens in the beautiful butterfly gardens.
To attract butterflies, will keep a few things in mind. Butterflies need the light to warm, and most of the flowers they need as sun, too. Sure you choose a sunny location (preferably in a sheltered) for your garden. For best results, plant flowers above behind the shorter – so you can see all the flowers and butterflies that appear in your garden. Adding stones and bricks for the butterflies to follow the sun butterflies near your garden. Rocks are convenient perches for butterflies to sun themselves and are also a very decorative addition to your garden. Also be still water on the ground – a bird bath or even a jar lid and work for it.
Adult butterflies are attracted by the sweet, strong and fragrant odors and orange, yellow, pink, purple and red. A variety of flowers provide nectar for adult butterflies, while the sources of food green leaf, parsley or fennel bronze, feed the larvae.
When selecting plants, choose a variety of plants that have flowers in bloom at any time during the summer. If the plant only one type of flower and flower and die, the butterflies will leave. Some plants that butterflies are attracted by: daylilies, iris, lavender, milkweed, Petunia, Phlox, Asters, Butterfly Bush, heliotrope, Cosmos, Clover, Zinnia. Some other plants as I found in my garden Gayfeather purple and Bee Balm. Not only are butterflies, love, but the hummingbirds are attracted to them too.
Butterflies also like it when the fruit is rotten, like watermelon. If you have a problem with ants who may want to do this, but that really attracts the butterflies. Another thing that seems to love is to have a gentleman from the water during the hottest days. They like to fly through water and the birds love too!
It is important to remember not to use chemical insecticides to kill that the butterflies they attract.
Remember that the general requirements for the butterfly garden are sunny, preferably a area protected from the wind, a little water, a source of nectar plants, larval host plants, and pesticide-free environment. Once you have planted your butterfly garden, sit and enjoy for years to come.
