The Malawi blue dolphin or Cyrtocara moorii is a member of the family Cichlidae. Cichlids are commonly called cichlids. The Blue Dolphin of Malawi is one of many native species of cichlids from Lake Malawi in Africa. Cichlids of Lake Malawi are known collectively as the African cichlids.

Blue Dolphins are very popular among owners of freshwater aquarium because of its bright blue. They, of course, is not linked with dolphins.
