Blanket Sesame

Tuna is a food with an incredible array of benefits that contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Tuna is rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and been known to reduce the risk of heart disease. It is also low in fat and cholesterol making it a great alternative to beef. Not only is an inexhaustible supply of tuna, is also one of the most delicious source of lean protein that you will never bite teeth.

Tuna is also easy to cook. It is a difficult fish and holds together and grilled, baked, or above the stove. Recipe Next is one of my favorites and is fairly easy to prepare.

I must mention one thing before starting this recipe. I do not know the exact measurement in recipes. I measure everything to the eye, so that the following measures should be used only as a guide. So do not get too crazy for me!

This is optional, but I Toast sesame seeds in a dry pan before putting in the tuna. Nuts and seeds become aromatic when roasted. This is recommended if you have the time and is very easy to do. INGREDIENTS:

1 / 4 cup Black Sesame Seeds
1 / 4 cup white sesame seeds
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 – 6 oz Ahi (yellowfin) tuna grilled
Salt and pepper to taste

MARINADE / Sauce

1 / 2 cup soy sauce, low sodium (Who needs the excess sodium, right?)
1 lemon (juice and zest – If you want more lemon flavor, add another)
1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro leaves chopped

1) Prepare the marinade. Add all marinade ingredients in small bowl and mix well. Middle of the Naval Reserve since a separate container to use as a sauce.

2) Get a glass dish or other container for marinating the reaction tuna in. You want the tuna steaks in a dish so well prepared they are surrounded by very well with marinade. 3) Remove tuna from refrigerator and let stand at room temperature for 20 minutes or less.

4) Remove tuna from marinade, shake off any excess marinade and dry paper towels.

5) Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon oil sesame. The oil should be hot but not smoking.

6) While the pan heats, arrange your sesame seeds on a plate. Tuna roll in the seeds pressing down as you roll to ensure that seeds are tuna in the well.

7) Add tuna to skillet and stir the waters a bit to ensure that the tuna does not stick. Sear, 30 to 40 seconds for both sides.

Remove and serve with reserved sauce.

For dishes with this recipe, which usually keep things pretty bland as I do not want anything to compete with flavors in the tuna. So I usually prepare a side of green beans steamed with a little butter, salt and pepper or other vegetables, and some seasoned jasmine or basmati rice.
