Baby Einstein-education or tit-tube set-up?
My husband and I have cable and use our TV to the movies occasionally. We expect our first child in January and many parents suggested that we Baby Einstein. We believe that training a baby to watch television for entertainment and education is not only the TV for a babysitter while parents should be the educator, but also provides for children to think of television as the primary source of entertainment rather than creative thinking and imagination. Your thoughts?
I think they are good in the fact that you learn a little about things that normally they do not display. This said, we do not have cable and rarely watch shows that are public (transmission of news and Heroes). We do a lot of movies, but not are not loaded with ads, etc. Baby Einstein films used in cases such as when the baby of 6 months, he fell ill and was unable to lot. We stop while giving nebulizer and do more than simply watch. With my newborn, I intend to let him check it out, but it will not be a babysitter for me to go do something else.
