Animal Tracks
Animal Tracks

Several years ago, my husband and I went hiking with a friend in a part of the Daniel Boone National Forest in northern Kentucky. It was an afternoon Spring really nice day we've all been walking by watching different species of plants, and sometimes a glimpse of some animals in the region.
Let me give you an idea of the history of Kentucky, before moving forward with my story. First, the name comes from Kentucky, at least a couple of Indian dialects native Americans. Tuck may or may Tuck-ke, which means "The Dark and Bloody Ground." No tribes have lived in the land dark and bloody. This is / was the land where spirits and supernatural creatures lived.
Of course, when Europeans arrived all I saw was a very fertile land and abundant rich natural resources and the various legends dismissed as superstitious nonsense. The various tribes living in the surrounding areas, which later became Tennessee, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia and Missouri, who is hunting and gathering in the region, but not live there.
Returning to my story. We were meandering through this particular area of spending the day quietly taking breaks, chatting about various events happening in the world and our daily lives, and stop having our picnic baskets. From time to time came across tracks of raccoon, deer tracks, and tracks each animal in the muddy areas while walking. As the day passed Sheltowee the winding path and sometimes get a break, or participate in a plant or an object of interest which would account, we find nothing improper or unusual, until we returned it.
As the day progressed, the south if the past and started to do so in shaping the decision to return to our vehicles as we still had almost 4 hours of sunshine and light to the left. We made our way back on the road he has traveled and about a mile or two from the parking lot, we encountered some problems which are quite unusual. Then we started to look around them and to follow.
Our friend, who I will from this point C, already had some experience with monitoring and knew all the avenues that could be made by wildlife in the region, had spent several years working for the Forest Service. I've never seen anything like this before. And, since it had spent much time camping and hiking ourselves in ensuring that the field guides for identifying most of the time I knew many types of animal tracks as well. we were quite perplexed as he is.
The tracks were huge hoof prints much larger than the deer can do. They were bigger than any of C. 's hand, my hand or the hand of my husband with C. which have the greatest power of all three of us. The roads were deeply rooted in the soil over an inch deep. And the model of the footprint of the hoof was very strange because, even if they were made by an animal that had obviously been through the area of mud and soft ground, not the usual pattern is a four-legged creature. The more we follow the obvious trail of evidence before our eyes became, however unlikely or unbelievable it seems. The tracks are to some something that works on both legs. The tracks are not there when we start our trek through good, so they were very fresh.
The neck hairs lifted when I realized what it meant, and apparently the idea was just my husband and our friend – which could still be very close. We spent an hour after all these issues, try to understand what was left of our large, deeply rooted tracks on earth and now we were thinking maybe it was not such a good idea after all. The evidence showed that what had these securities was high, and probably weighed over 200 pounds. Now, our beautiful day faded and had deviated from the main road a distance of a mile. We all decided to show a rapid series of heel and went to the parking lot and our cars.
For future days we talk about our little adventure. My husband and I are educated in "myths" and legends of classical history, history and rural Kentucky, and think, read and discuss what might make such tracks. We found no descriptions of normal animals that have could make such tracks.
So why these tracks? We knew the legend and tales of a creature that would have left these tracks, but not saytrs supposed to exist – are they?
